Epstein and Intelligence: A Recap
In case you missed it….don’t miss it
Over the past week, Top Secret Umbra has run an exclusive series assessing the controversial and secretive subject of the late Jeffrey Epstein and intelligence. He was a pedophile and wheeler-dealer to VIPs, but much more. This five-part series originally ran on the German news portal NiUS.de. Applying real-world counterintelligence expertise, while cutting through myths, half-truths, and deceptions, this series offers a unique examination of Epstein’s relationships with multiple spy agencies that you can’t find anywhere else.
As always, I thank my subscribers for your support. This series was paywalled when it dropped, in five segments, over the past week. However, I’m removing the paywall on all five segments due to compelling public interest. Specifically, a few old friends who are now senior Intelligence Community officials felt this unique analysis, including its recommendations for how to resolve this awful scandal, is so important that anybody who wants to should be able to read it. I concur: spread the word, folks.
Part I introduces the complex subject of Epstein’s “belonging to intelligence” per that infamous phrase from his 2008 non-prosecution “sweetheart deal” delivered by the Department of Justice. Who really was Epstein? The key to understanding the Epstein enigma is explaining his role as an access agent for multiple spy services.
Part II analyzes the Epstein network as a continuation of the Cold War spy system run for decades by Robert Maxwell, the British publishing mogul who was Epstein’s de facto father-in-law. Maxwell spied for multiple services, Israel’s Mossad and the Soviet KGB preeminently. His favorite daughter, Ghislaine, subsequently became Epstein’s partner in life – and crime.
Part III executes a counterintelligence deep dive into Epstein’s clandestine relationships with intelligence services in Israel and Russia. This is the topic of much speculation, much of it uninformed or biased: What’s the truth? Epstein was supremely self-confident, knowing he enjoyed special protection from powerful friends. This made him careless and his operational security was abysmal.
Part IV explains how Epstein secretly served Israeli state interests for decades, frequently employing a cut-out to mask Mossad’s footprint. The most important of these fronts was the Mega Group, a gathering of super-rich North American Jewish businessmen, led by Les Wexner, who was Epstein’s backer, advocate, and sugar daddy. What was really going on here?
Part V assesses the most controversial aspect of this unpleasant scandal: What did U.S. intelligence agencies know about Epstein and his prodigious crimes, and when did they know it? What happens to those secrets now? Since the Trump White House has declared the Epstein matter closed, how can the uncomfortable truth about Epstein and his ties to spy agencies be revealed to the public?
This series is complete – for now. However, as more information about Epstein, Maxwell, and their ties to intelligence services comes to light, this newsletter will report it as nobody else can. I won’t ask the reader to enjoy this series, since the subject matter is harrowing, involving the sexual abuse of numerous women, even children. However, the truth matters and shedding light on ugly subjects is necessary to prevent their repetition. It’s even the best disinfectant. Or so they say.
